Bar – Boljare highway construction to start this week

Work on the construction of Bar – Boljare highway in Montenegro will formally start this week, local media reported. The project will be launched in the village of Gornje Mrke, north of Montenegrin capital Podgorica.
The highway, which will connect the south of Montenegro (the Port of Bar) with the Serbian border, will be 188 kilometres long and have 42 tunnels and 92 bridges and viaducts.
In March, the Croatian consortium led by Konstruktor was made preferred bidder for the project which will cost EUR 2.8 billion. Construction works are expected to finish in 2019.
