Serbia-Montenegro highway tender in March 2010

A tender for the building of a highway from Belgrade to the border with Montenegro,
near the town of Boljare, will be launched by March 1, 2010, announced Serbian Infrastructure
Minister, Milutin Mrkonjic.
Speaking at the session of the Serbian Parliament's Transportation Committee, Mrkonjic
said that EUR 100 million will be designated in 2010 for the building of the first
segment from Belgrade to Cacak.
"The paperwork for this project is in the pipeline and will be completed by January
1, 2010," the minister said. Mrkonjic also said that he had earmarked EUR 80 million
from the 2010 budget for the building of the highway on the northern part of Corridor
10 through Serbia. In his words, the plan is for the complete project paperwork
for the building the remaining 250 kilometres of highway on Corridor 10 through
Serbia to be finished by March 1, 2010, as well as the expropriating of land at
certain segments, for which money has been secured by loans.
Mrkonjic added that funds are currently being sought from international institutions
for the building of the part of the ring-road around Belgrade, on the Belgrade-Nis
highway.
