Rehn says Montenegro on fast track to EU

Montenegro is efficiently implementing the interim agreement and is moving quickly towards the EU accession, EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said in Brussels on Sunday (March 22nd) after a meeting with Montenegrin Foreign Minister Milan Rocen.
Rehn said that Montenegro’s progress on the European path is substantial, adding that the assessment of the European Commission is positive as well, according to Podgorica media.
“Progress has been made in strengthening administrative capacities and reforming the legislature, which is the basis of fighting corruption, but also progress on the path to integration. It is encouraging that the government, all political parties, civil society and social partners are dedicated to the European integration of Montenegro,” Rehn added.
