FDI - EUR 215.2 million invested

According to data by Montenegro’s Central Bank, foreign direct investment amounted to EUR 215.2 million in the first quarter of this year, 6.8 per cent more compared to the same time period last year. The difference between the influx and drain of foreign direct investment amounted to EUR 129.5 million in the first quarter, i.e. 2.2 per cent less than in the first quarter last year.
Foreign capital investment in Montenegrin banks and companies made up 45 per cent of the influx, while 37.6 per cent was invested in real estate. EUR 2.2 million pertained to the transfer of invested capital abroad. Based on foreign direct investment in the first quarter, drain amounted to EUR 85.7 million, which was 24 per cent more than last year. Most of this amount, even 71,8 per cent, pertained to real estate.
